What Bridge & Gavel Does
Bridge & Gavel ADR LLC is a conflict systems firm. That's a specific thing, and it's worth explaining what it means.
Most mediators resolve disputes. We do that too. But the work we care most about is what happens after the dispute — building the systems, skills, and structures that make the next conflict less costly and more productive.
We work across three areas:
Resolve. You need a trained neutral — someone who isn't inside the politics, doesn't have a stake in the outcome, and knows how to get parties to an agreement that actually holds. That's mediation, EEO advisory, and conflict audits for federal agencies and organizations. Develop. Your managers are spending too much time on people problems and not enough on mission work. Leadership coaching and conflict skills training gives them the tools to handle friction before it becomes a formal complaint. Transform. Some organizations don't just have a conflict problem — they have a conflict system problem. The same disputes keep surfacing because the underlying infrastructure is broken. That's where consulting comes in: diagnosing what's producing the conflict and building something better. The through-line across all three: friction is fuel. Conflict, handled well, makes organizations stronger. The goal is never to eliminate tension. It's to build the capacity to transform it.
Who This Blog Is For
No jargon. No hedging. No "it depends" without an explanation of what it depends on.
The Resolution Lab is for people who work in and around conflict: federal HR directors, nonprofit leaders, family business owners, supervisors, executives, and anyone who has ever sat across from someone and thought, there has to be a better way to have this conversation.
Every post is grounded in research and written from the field. You'll find practical frameworks, case-based analysis, and the kind of direct language that doesn't show up in most conflict resolution writing. The goal isn't to make conflict resolution sound academic. It's to make it usable.
Where to Start
If you're new here, these two posts are the best entry points:
The BRIDGE Method™ Explained — The six-stage framework we use for every engagement. If you want to understand how we think about conflict, start here. How to Prepare for Your First Mediation Session — If you're heading into a mediation and don't know what to expect, this is the practical guide you need. From there, the blog is organized by sector and topic. Use the categories to find what's most relevant to your situation.
One More Thing
If something in your organization is broken right now — not theoretically, but actually — the fastest path forward is a conversation. Not a consultation with a pitch at the end. A real conversation about what's happening and whether we're the right fit to help.
You can schedule that here.
Friction is fuel. Let's put it to work.
